“Well, I packed…for that…too..” She mumbled, blushing in embarrassment.
“Good!” he clapped his palms together and appeared next to her, floating on his back, “Shall we be going then?”
“Oh, that’s right….” She’s coming down the stairs with a saddle bag. “I’m sorry, it slipped my mind.”
He smiled at her, remaining on the couch. “I meant the weather. A sweater or something might be wise. The tea is fine, dear,” and with that he downed the rest of the cup and sent it back to its place on the table with a small flash of light.
“There’s tea on the table if you’d like some.” She calls, trotting up her stairs to pack a bag.
He rose an eyebrow at her offer, thinking it a good pass time while he waited. Snapping his talon-like fingers, he summoned a cup to his grasp, already filled with the hot tea. “I heard it might be cold,” he mused, loud enough for her to hopefully hear before taking a sip from the cup.
She nodded quickly, looking up to see that her house was in sight. She sped up with her trot.
The chimera let her pass and followed behind, paw and claw folded comfortably behind his back.
She reached her door, pulling a key out of the plant pot, unlocking the door and trotting in.
He merely teleported inside. Comfortable with the familiar space, he appeared on her couch, prepared to wait for her to gather whatever she needed.
She nodded quickly, looking up to see that her house was in sight. She sped up with her trot.
The chimera let her pass and followed behind, paw and claw folded comfortably behind his back.
“I don’t want to talk about it.” She muttered, keeping her face hidden. She really didn’t want to approach the thought, even with Discord.
Well now he was just plain curious. Curious, and not getting the information he wanted. The spirit wasn’t a patient one by far, but he swallowed the urge to press on with a small grunt. “Alright, alright,” he sighed, floating on ahead of her, wings flapping lazily as he did so. Honestly, the things were more for show as magic was what kept him afloat. Thinking of the rest of the mare’s friends, he considered for a moment on a quick addition to his response. “Well I’m here if you want to talk about it.” Quick, and to the point. Painless.
“I’m alright.” She responded softly, looking up slightly to meet his gaze. “Just thinking is all.”
“Thinkinggg… about what?” he asked, childish curiosity gleaming in his wide eyes.
She kept silent, her gaze switching to the ground. “….” Her ears flexed to where they pressed against her skull.
Discord pouted. “Oh come on. Aren’t friends supposed to be able to tell each other anything?”
“I’m alright.” She responded softly, looking up slightly to meet his gaze. “Just thinking is all.”
“Thinkinggg… about what?” he asked, childish curiosity gleaming in his wide eyes.
“Thank you.” She started on her way toward her cottage, which was a block or two away. All the while, she kept chewing the inside of her mouth.
The chimera followed along, mismatched wings and a good dose of magic keeping him afloat as he moved with her. He gave a few glances around, shifting to float along on his back, paw and claw resting behind his head. After a few moments, he moved above her, levitating as he curved his body slightly to meet her eyes upside-down. “Is something bothering you, Fluttershy,” he cooed mockingly, “You seem a little.. off.”
“Oh, alright…” She murmured, nodding her head. She was glad he didn’t push the subject farther and thankful that she didn’t need to pack much.
“Where should we meet each other after I pack? Or are you going with me to do so…?”
“Oh I can just summon what I may need,” he replied cheerfully, the suitcases disappearing in a quick flash of white light, “I suppose I could go with you - well, I could just appear what you need, too! But you probably want your own items, heh heh.”
